Meeting People Where They Are

Sam takes an unorthodox approach to social justice, advocacy and non-profit creativity. He helps identify injustice and advocate for justice, in all aspects of work and life. Workshop participants will walk away with tools for responding to needs of diverse populations and causes in our community and provide strategies and tools for applying a social justice lens to all aspects of life.

From bathroom bills to Facebook’s 50+ gender identity options, gender has been on the tip of our nation’s tongue, yet we all have a hard time talking about it. With a mix of storytelling and humor, Sam clears up some common misconceptions, gives tips for how to talk about gender, why it matters, and ways to invite everyone to the conversation.
